Our company is a digital platform that connects care homes with qualified nurses and carers. By signing up, healthcare professionals can access various shifts that fit their schedules, while care homes can find the staff they need efficiently.
How can I sign up as a care provider or healthcare professional?
To sign up, visit our registration page and provide the necessary details to create your profile. We’ll guide you through the verification process to ensure you meet our quality standards.
How quickly can I start working after registering?
Once your credentials are verified, and an interview is scheduled which can typically take a few days to a week, you can start accepting shifts immediately.
Do you offer visa sponsorship?
Staffscanner don’t currently offer visa sponsorship, but if you’re currently in the UK on an eligible visa and have enough relevant care experience, you can register with Staffscanner.
What kind of shifts can I find through your platform?
We offer a wide range of shifts, including day, night, and live-in options, across various locations. Shifts can be part-time, full-time, or temporary to fit your schedule.
Is there a fee for healthcare professionals or care providers to use the platform?
Healthcare professionals can join and use the platform for free. Care providers may pay a fee for successful staffing connections, significantly lower than traditional agency margins.
How does Staffscanner address urgent staffing needs?
We have a feature for immediate or last-minute staffing needs, which alerts available and nearby professionals for quick response and coverage.
Do you provide any training or professional development opportunities?
Yes, we offer access to online training and professional development courses to help you stay up-to-date with the latest care practices.
What happens if I need to cancel a shift I've booked?
We understand that emergencies happen. Our cancellation policy requires timely notification to allow care homes to find a replacement. A fee may be applied if we determine the cancelation is your fault.
All Cancelations must be done via phone call. If you need to cancel the shift you must contact the office on 03330 094 5922.
We do not accept cancelations via text, email or live chat. If you cancel a shift within 24 hours of starting the shift starting, then you may be liable to a £50 admin fee.
How do you handle disputes or issues between care providers and professionals?
We have a conflict resolution process in place, which includes mediation and support from our customer service team to address and resolve any disputes.

What are the requirements for care providers to join your platform?
Care providers must be licensed, have valid credentials, and pass our comprehensive vetting process, including background and reference checks. They must also have the right to work within the UK and have at least 6 months UK Care Experience.
How is Staffscanner different from traditional staffing agencies?
Staffscanner is more than an Agency, we leverage technology to streamline the connection between care providers and professionals, reducing overhead costs and enabling direct connection between shifts and healthcare professionals.
How does the matching process between care providers and professionals work?
Our platform uses the fairest way to match care providers’ needs with healthcare professionals’ preferences. As long as the healthcare professionals’ “Search Radius” is set correctly, they will be able to see all shifts on offer within that radius and have an equal opportunity to apply for that shift. It is ultimately up to the care service who determines if you are successful or not for that shift.
What kind of support does Staffscanner offer to its users?
We provide 24/7 customer support for both care providers and professionals, along with resources and guidance for best practices in care staffing.
How can I manage my shifts and availability through Staffscanner?
Our user-friendly platform allows you to manage your shifts, set your availability, and update your preferences and profile at any time.
How and when will I get paid for my work?
You are paid on average 2 working days after a shift has been completed. You must have signed in and out on the app for this to happen.
Does Staffscanner offer any benefits or perks to its users?

They can also expect a standard 48-hour payment process, with no need to request early payment—a notable difference from other agencies. Can I work in different locations with Staffscanner?
Absolutely. Our platform serves various locations, and you can select your preferred working areas when you set up your profile and change this if you’d like to travel.
